Brown Box'in it = Green ?

For the simplefloors team, this pallet is a familiar site. For the past 5 years our packaging has been similar to this. They came in multiple colors and although this one is just in black and white, to make these cartons we purchase ink, dye and gloss coating in chemical format. Coating the cardboard with these additional elements (think juice-boxes) uses unnecessary chemicals and the gloss spray outer coating eliminates the ability for recycling in most areas, a double downer.
Simplefloors is not yet "picture perfect green", but in various corners of its operations we are making progress toward this end. Most of these changes are easy to make and cost very little or nothing at all. What is needed is ongoing conscious commitments to protect our environment. We are the first manufacture in our industry to green our packaging. When you provide roughly a million square feet worth of flooring any given month that means little steps have the ability to make a big impact on the environment.

Here are examples of the newly arrived generic brown (yet green) boxes with no coating.

These just arrived to the Suwanee GA, warehouse. Oakland CA and other locations receiving these as well.
The writing the left of the recycle logo reads "This box is brown intentionally. By allowing this box to be its natural color we are reducing the footprint on the environment. Please recycle this when you are done.

In a few months, the majority of the inventory in the warehouses will be sporting their new Green packaging.
